Ladymead Passivhaus

Architects, Hewitt Studios

Contractors, Richardson and Peat Ltd.

This  timber framed Passivhaus will be constructed off-site by Richardson and Peat and has been designed with the best sustainable practice in mind incorporating low-energy construction techniques including super insulation, high levels of air tightness, triple glazing and designing out heat losing thermal bridges. Solar Photovoltaic panels will be installed to generate a significant proportion of the  electricity demand and the dwelling will be fitted with a Mechanical Heat Ventilation Recovery unit (MVHR) ensuring that waste heat is recovered from the stale air leaving the building. The predicted peak space heating load will be approximately 1.5 kW.

Building is due to start in early spring 2015.
