Ruth followed her life long obsession with low energy housing to its logical conclusion – building her own timber frame Passivhaus home, ‘Wahroonga’.  Along the way she has worked on other people’s self build projects including straw-bale,earth and other non- conventional methods, did an MSc in low energy architecture and became a Certified Passivhaus Designer.  She prefers natural materials where practicable for their lower environmental impact, and tries to stay alert to the human tendency to overcomplicate things. She is especially keen to help other self builders to achieve their dreams.
